New Jersey woman faces drug charges after police enter apartment

When confronted with law enforcement officials, people in New Jersey may be confused about their options. This confusion could potentially lead them to allow police action that could ultimately result in an arrest. For example, a young woman was recently arrested and now faces drug charges after she allegedly invited police officers into her home.

The woman was arrested on a day January. Reports indicate that detectives had received a tip that drug dealing was happening at the woman's property. The details of that tip -- including who provided it -- are unclear.

Police say that they approached the woman while she was on her porch. Detectives state that the woman claimed that she had nothing to hide and invited the detectives into her home because she was cold outside. Inside, reports claim, law enforcement officials allegedly discovered heroin, cocaine and marijuana in the woman's bedroom. A gun and ammunition were also reportedly recovered. In addition to the drugs and weapons, police claim they found paraphernalia used for packaging drugs, such as glassine envelopes, scales and grinders.

The New Jersey woman is accused of 11 drug charges, including maintaining a drug production facility, in addition to weapons charges. Unfortunately, she now faces multiple important decisions in the coming days as a result of the allegations against her. Many people with no legal training feel unprepared to make informed decisions, often prompting them to seek legal advice from an experienced criminal defense attorney. With such guidance, defendants facing criminal charges often feel more prepared to navigate the justice system.
