Teen who sues parents for emanciaption files domestic abuse

In a bizarre twist of fate, a New Jersey teen who recently emancipated herself from her parents due to strict dating rules at home, has filed a restraining order against the boyfriend her parents did not want her to see.

The 18-year-old left her parent's home due to disagreement over dating rules, then sued her parents for child support, claiming they were financially responsible to support her. She maintained she deserved to have her tuition and college costs taken care of by her parents. Tabloids across the country called her the 'Spoiled' New Jersey teen who took her parents to court in order to get her way. She has now filed a restraining order against this boyfriend claiming he assaulted and choked her.

The boyfriend had been a motivating factor in the 18-year-case of emancipation from the family home. Now, although out of her parent's home, she is seeking her parent's support in protection against the domestic violence charge she has filed against the young man.

When domestic violence becomes part of a home, everyone suffers. In this case, the, the family endured while the nation remained riveted to see how the case would play out. The girl has since dropped the case against her parents and is seeking their help. While the story made news across the country, the 18-year-old gained some notoriety due to the nature of her case. In her new complaint, she claimed she had been assaulted by the 18 year old boyfriend alleging he had choked her. She fled to the police headquarters and filed a domestic violence restriction.

If the police in New Jersey respond to a domestic dispute, the matter is generally solved by an arrest. If you or someone you know is facing a domestic violence charge, the Jersey Domestic Violence Defense Attorney is unlikely to dismiss the charges. Seek the help you need without delay and procure the best defense you can who can speak in your behalf and protect your rights.
