Domestic abuse charges filed in New Jersey against Olympian

A renowned Olympic figure skater has been accused of physically abusing his partner in their New Jersey home following a public reconciliation. The champion athlete had previously announced his divorce from his spouse in what has been labeled a tumultuous relationship, rife with domestic violence.

Social media have publicized the repeated altercations between the two partners amidst charges filed in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. A person close to the pair has stated police had been called to the home of the volatile couple on one occasion, but a more serious physical attack allegedly took place the following day.

According to reports, the figure skater's husband suffered scratches, cuts and bruises on his hand, wrist and knee following a fight resulting from the discovery of text messages on a cellphone. The athlete reportedly felt the text messages were offensive and caused him to confront his partner in a dispute that led to a scratching brawl.

The details of the argument are unclear but the injured spouse is scheduled to appear in court to state his case to a judge, who may order the famous Olympian to be arrested.

The spouse of the skater had previously filed domestic violence charges against his partner. He alleged he had been bitten during an argument, but the charges were later dropped.

Domestic violence and other crimes have been brought to light during the age of technology and social media sites. In this case of a troubled New Jersey couple, the world has witnessed the price one pays for fame.

If a person is arrested for domestic violence, the charges may result in a restraining order. In many cases, domestic violence charges are dropped as couples reconcile. If you have been involved in a case of physical abuse, you should seek help quickly to protect yourself, as evidence may dissipate in time. Extreme cases of domestic violence can ruin lives. Consider your situation and take solace in the fact that there is help available which can prevent you from being a victim of physical abuse.
